Pete has had a short career in organized ball, but he shows great promise. He was the Senators' regular shortstop in 1952, his first full season in the majors, and he batted a nice .285 for 152 games. His fielding percentage of .966 was second best among American League shortstops. Began in 1949, led the Sooner League in batting with a .372 average. Hit .330 in 1950 and .356 in 1951.



Began major league career with Pirates in 1947. Also played for Cardinals and Cincinnati before coming to Indians in 1952. A strong-armed and able defensive player, he paced National League outfielders in 1950. Averaged 20 homers for five seasons with Pittsburgh. Hit .330 for Indians



Edward Collins, second baseman of the Chicago American League team, was born in Millerton, N. Y., May 2, 1887. His career started at Columbia University, and he played with the Rutland, Vt., team in 1906, and joined the Athletics in 1907. He has been the regular second baseman of that team since 1908. In fall of 1914 Collins was sold to Chicago Americans.
