Look no further than Matt's new long-term contract as evidence that the Seahawks are convinced he's the man to lead them to the next level. Holder of the franchise record for passing yards in a season (set in 2003), he was off pace last year - until December, when he was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month after completing 72 percent of his chucks and averaging 285 yards in four games.

Fred, who has extraordinary power and quickness, is practically unstoppable one-on-one with most offensive linemen matched across the line from him. In '88, he sacked the quarterback four times to give him 28.5 in his career, and recovered one fumble. A Pro Bowler four straight seasons ('80-'83). Fred was at his most awesome in '83. That season, he had a career-high 87 tackles, including eight in one game twice, 6.0 sacks and was voted to the All-AFC first team.

The Steelers surprised everyone when they made Gary their No. 1 draft choice a couple of years ago. They wanted him for his pass defending talents - and they weren't wrong. Gary does a good job covering receivers downfield and batting down passes. He's seldom faked out by the shifty NFL pass catchers and even the veterans marvel at Gary's football savvy.
