Richard Rudolph, right-handed pitcher of the Boston National League Club, was born in New York City, August 25, 1889, and first attracted attention as a member of the Fordham College team in 1906. After playing summer ball at Rutland, Vt., Rudolph signed with Toronto, of the Eastern League, for 1907. He remained with that team until the fall of 1910, when he was purchased by the New York Giants. In 1911 Rudolph was sent back to Toronto, and remained there until the middle of the 1913 season, when he was purchased by Boston. Since that time Rudolph has been a star, but he never really found himself until the middle of the 1914 season. He won two world's series games against the Athletics.
