Name that player!

When Don was "beaned" at St. Paul (A.A.) in '53, his career and even his life hung in the balance for weeks! But Don's great courage and fight pulled him through and today he is a top prospect for the Dodgers' shortstop job. In '50, his second year in pro ball, he led the Pony League in HR's and Stolen Bases. At Mobile in '52, he batted .310, and .300 at St. Paul in 1953.

Baseball's official laugh-producer, is now on his fourth annual tour of the nation's ball parks. The diamond comedian, who has made more than 50,000,000 people laugh in his long clowning career, was one of the best pitchers in the International League when he played with Jersey City in 1919. He won 20 games for Jersey City, a last place club, and 10 of these were shutouts, still the league record. He sold himself to the Washington Senators in 1919 by writing anonymous letters to Clark Griffith and when he hurt his shoulder, turned to coaching and clowning for the Nats. In four years of touring, Schacht has shattered more than 150 attendance records.

"Dick" began his professional baseball career with a semi-professional team of Butte, Montana, in 1927. He entered the majors in 1928 with the Pittsburgh Pirates and is now with the New York Giants.
