Ralph's batting feats take up nearly a whole page in the record books. In 1952 he tied for most home runs in the league with 37, seventh straight year that Ralph has led or tied in this department. He is the only batter in history of baseball to lead in home runs his first seven years in the majors. He also set a new National League mark for the most years leading in homers.

MY FAVORITE MEMORIES IN BASEBALL: My biggest thrill was the base hit that won the All Star game in 1954. The most exciting game I've played in was the one where I hit my first home run. The best fielding: Every play that Chico Carrasquel makes is great. And I mean great! The funniest thing I've seen occurred when Larry Doby got hit on the head by a pop fly in 1948. My childhood heroes were Dick Siebert and Bob Johnson. The best hitters I've seen are Ted Williams and Stan Musial, and the best pitchers are Bob Lemon and Robin Roberts.

Albie was the most exciting newcomer in the A.L. last year. He led his team in singles, doubles, and placed 2nd in batting, triples and total hits. Albie hit only 234 for the first third of the season but bounced back with a .307 for the remainder.
