"Joe" Kuhel is one of the best first basemen in the American League. A fine defensive player, he is also a good hitter. Kuhel's professional career goes back to 1924. He first came up to the majors with the Washington Senators in 1930. He was with the Nats through 1937, when he was traded to the Chicago White Sox for Zeke Bonura.
