Backes tied for second on the Blues in points (14) during the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs and led the team with three game-winning goals in the postseason. He signed a five-year contract with Boston in July 2016.
Parise led Minnesota in goals and was second in points despite and injury-shortened season in 2015-16. He led the NHL with three hat tricks and represented Team USA at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
Pat MacLeod made his NHL debut with the North Stars last season but became a Shark when he was taken by San Jose in the 1991 Dispersal Draft. He spent most of the last two seasons with Kalamazoo (IHL) and last year finished second in scoring among Wings defensemen, drafted in the fifth round by Minnesota in 1989, MacLeod played his junior hockey for Kamloops (WHL). He scored his first NHL goal in his first game with the Sharks.
