Casey is one of baseball's most colorful personalities, and also one of its ablest. In his four years as manager of the New York Yankees he has led them to four American League pennants and four World Series' victories. He's a great story teller and a keen student of the game. His career in organized baseball goes back to 1910. He was an outfielder, and saw service in the majors with Brooklyn, the Phillies, Pirates, Giants and Braves. First managed in 1925. Managed the Dodgers and Braves previously.
George spent most of last season at Louisville where he hit .288 and played on the Inter-League All-Star squad.
