When it comes to clutch hitting, Johnny is the man for the job. He led the Phillies in home runs and runs batted in last season.
Had four homers and a single in nine inning game (1950) to tie homer and total base record of 17. Led league in double plays in 1949, 1950, 1951, to tie major league mark. Played two games for Dodgers in 1943, then didn't rejoin them until 1947 because of Military Service and a year in minors.
"Red" is playing his second season with the White Sox in '54. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, he started pro ball with Waterloo in '50 and hit .319 in 67 games. In '51 at Memphis, Bob batted .327 in 82 games and went to Seattle in '52, where he hit .297 and drove in 75 Runs with 32 Doubles, 9 Triples and 7 Homers in 155 games.
