The strong, young pitcher, is a highly regarded member of the Detroit Tigers' pitching staff, and should be in the major leagues, making life hard on hitters for many years to come. He got into 29 games for the Tigers in 1953, winning 9 and losing 14. He pitched 198 innings and struck out 90 men. His control is good, since he walked only 58. He was with the Tigers in 1952, getting in 34 games that season, winning 2 and losing 7.
