Although Wally played only part time last season, he added to the reserve power that helped make the Indians the A.L. Pennant Winners. A National League veteran, Wally played with Pittsburgh for 4 years before seeing service with St. Louis and Cincinnati. In '52 he joined the Indians and in '53 he hit .330 in 82 games. Wally can break up a game with his timely hitting.
A highly regarded right hander, Harry was named American League Rookie of the Year for 1952. He appeared in 37 games for the Athletics, winning 15 and losing a like number. His earned run average was a low 3.32. Optioned to Savannah of the Sally League in 1951, he won 18 games and lost 14. He worked in 248 innings, and led the league in complete games with 23. He struck out 180.
To Tigers from Browns in an early trade in 1952. Began 1951 with Red Sox. After 11 games for them, he was traded to Browns. His combined batting average was .285 for 90 games. He drove in 33 runs. Began in 1942 with Canton. Came to majors, at end of '47 season, with Sox.
