1909 T206 Set cards were often glued into scrapbooks or affixed to other surfaces and, as a result, they are often found with paper loss on them from when they were removed.
Batting - Choose your bat carefully, being especially sure to select a bat that is light enough. Many young players make the mistake of swinging bats that are too heavy. Even Babe Ruth, in late years has come down from a 54-ounce stick, heaviest in the leagues, to a 36-ounce club. If you have long arms you may need a thick handled bat to add punch to balls that are hit near the hands. Or you may need a shorter bat. Experiment with weights and models until you find one that feels just right. Even a great hitter, like Lombardi of the Reds, who favors one certain model, tries many bats of that model before he finds one that has just the proper balance and wood.
"Take a combination of a fine fielder, a dependable hitter and a good base-runner and you have the makings of a star baseball player. That's Charley Gehringer of the Detroit Tigers, Michigan born, Michigan bred and a Michigan baseball hero. In 1933 he was the best batting second base- man in the American League with an average of .325. He is 31 years old, stands 5 feet, 11 inches high and weighs 180 pounds. He bats left-handed, but throws right-handed. He began his professional career with the Tigers in 1925, virtually right out of college, and has held down the second base sack ever since."
