Ray Fosse: Last year Ray hit .301 for Portland in the Pacific Coast League. The backstop, just 21 years old, figures heavily in the Indians' future plans. Ray has been in pro ball since 1965. George Woodson: George had a big year with Portland in 1968, winning 13 games while compiling a 3.04 earned run average. The righthander from Arkansas weighs 170 pounds and stands 5'10" tall.



Ed is another of the ex-Brooklyn Dodgers who was traded to the Pirates for the 1948 season, and made good in a big way. The big Texan appeared in 128 games for the Bucs and led the league first basemen in fielding with a .996 percentage. He accepted 1108 chances and had only 4 miscues. He batted .254 and included 10 home runs in his hits. A long ball hitter. He drove in 69 runs.



Ted was an all-around man in the Red Sox infield last season. He played 2nd, 3rd and Shortstop and gave fine fielding performances at each position. After graduating from Seton Hall College in '51, Ted joined Roanoke and advanced to Louisville the same year. In '52, he played in 84 games with Boston, hitting .263 and saw part time duty the next season as a utility infielder.
