Acquired during the winter draft from Oakland, Jim figures to see lots of duty with Seattle. The outfielder set a Carolina League record in 1962, when he drove in 10 runs in one contest. It was just Jim's 3rd professional game!



The 1916 Sporting News M101-4 set features stars such as Eddie Collins (#24), Charles Comiskey (#36), Ty Cobb (#38), Sam Crawford (#41), Joe Jackson (#87), Hugh Jennings (#90), Walter Johnson (#91), Babe Ruth (#151), Joe Tinker (#174) and Honus Wagner (#182).



A former National Leaguer, Del is a good workman behind the plate. He's big and sure. Del was in 58 games for the Red Sox during 1953, batting .241. He drove in 29 runs. Del's hobby is painting baseballs for the winning pitchers on his team, decorating the balls with the victory number, line scores and interesting facts. Began in baseball in 1938. He first came to the majors with the St. Louis Cardinals, then played for the Philadelphia Phillies.
