Paul Richards, New York catcher, has played practically every position on the diamond since he started in baseball. He was a pitcher when in high school; later worked in infield and outfield before he started catching. The Giants bought him from Minneapolis, where, in 1932, he swatted .361 in 78 games hitting 16 home runs. Richards was born in Waxahachie, Texas in 1908; is 6 feet, 11⁄2 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds; bats and throws right handed. He began his professional career with Crisfield in the Eastern Shore League in 1926.
