Bobby got his second chance in the National League in '52, since he played in 19 games for the Giants in '49. In '44 he played his first pro ball game. After a year in the Service, Bobby joined Trenton for the '46 and '47 seasons. He moved to Sioux City of the Western League in '48 where he hit .319 and made the League All-Star team. Bobby hit .281 for Minneapolis in '49, .296 for Oakland in '50 and split the '51 season between Ottawa and Minneapolis.



"Rocky" was bought from Montreal last season after winning the International League's Most Valuable Player Award. He was 2nd in Homers and tops in Runs Batted In. In the Little World Series, he hit .647. "Rocky" previously had Major League trials with the Cards, Pirates, White Sox and Dodgers. At Lynchburg in '47 he led the Piedmont League in Hitting with .371.



The Dodgers took a big step in bolstering their mound corps when they signed Sandy for a large bonus last season. The former University of Cincinnati hurler compiled a brilliant Strikeout record at college. In 30 innings at Cincinnati, he struck out 58 men and posted 34 SO's in 2 consecutive games. In high school, Sandy was a basketball and baseball star.
