Began 1950 with the St. Louis Cardinals. Switched to the Phillies. In a total of 16 games for the season. Won 4, lost 1. Entered professional ball in 1941. Made bow in National League at end of 1947 season, pitching a 1-hitter for the Cardinals. Started 1948 with. their Rochester farm. Rejoined parent club after 17 games. With Cards until Philadelphia deal. In the service for 3 years.



Jeremy would have excelled in the late 1980s when shortstops were prized more for their glove than their hitting. Jeremy's power would have been even more rare then than it is today.



An ex-Marine, Bob got his first Big League chance with the Braves at the end of the 1950 season after leading the American Association at Milwaukee in Batting (323). Before that he hit .314 and .346 for St. Paul in '48 and '49. In 16 games for the Braves in '50, Bob hit .250. In October of 1951, he was traded to the Cubs. In pro ball since 1943, Bob was an All-Ohio State sprint man in High School, where he started out as a pitcher, but switched to the outfield.
