Such is the power that the Boston Bee outfielder has displayed on occasion and has made him one of the most sought-after ball players in baseball. In his fourth season with the Bees, West may hit his stride this year. He has proved that he can drive a ball as far as anybody in the league, but he has failed to reach the consistency demanded of great ball players. He drove in 72 runs last year on 137 hits.
