A boy who's made good in his home town. Scouts saw him playing up on Washington Heights and within a year he was promoted to the top Giant farm club, Jersey City. His record of 52 consecutive games without an error is still to be topped. The style and perfection of his workmanship is a joy to behold. His quick hands are his great baseball attribute. Batting average last year was .287.



In 69 games in 1950, hitting .171. In 1949, hit .257 in 101 games. Began in organized baseball with Hartford in 1938. Joined Braves late in 1939, and stayed with them until 1943. After discharge from service, came back to the Braves for 1946. Played 1 game. Then was switched to Indianapolis. There Sibby hit .343 as regular shortstop. Returned to Wigwam, 1947. Can play both infield and outfield.



The 1951 campaign was Dutch's 22nd in baseball. While he started only 1 game, he made plenty of appearances in relief. In 41 games in all, winning 10, losing 6. Had the very good earned run average of 2.63. Besides Cubs, Dutch has also been with Dodgers, Senators, Phillies.
