The Reds' acquired Jack last winter from the White Sox. Pitching in tough luck, he lost 24 games with the Mets in 1965.



Joined Yankees in 1942 as a pitcher but he developed such unusual hitting power that he was converted into an outfielder. In 1943 he led his league in triples (12). In 1944 he again led AL in triples with 16. In 1945 Army called but he was back on team in 1946, playing first base and in the outfield. He's a policeman during the off-season.



In Jim's first season with the Phils in 1964, the ace righthander pitched five shutouts and his second major league no-hitter.
