Rollie was credited with a Save in the 2nd game of the 1972 World Series vs. Reds. He entered the game with 2 out in the ninth inning and a runner on first base. He retired the batter on a pop-up to preserve the 2-1 victory for Jim Hunter.



Bob completed his first full year in the Majors in '52. The big fastballer joined the pro ranks in '46 after serving 4 years in the Marine Corps. He led the Kitty League with 361 Strikeouts and had a 19-10 record for Fulton in '46. He was 15-11 for Greenville in '47 and 11-11 for Memphis in '48. With Nashville in '50, Bob won 25, lost 6 and was named the Most Valuable Player in the Southern Association. In '51, as a Cub, he had a 3-6 mark.



"Jay" came to the Tigers from the Browns in December of '52. He was named the American Legion Player of 1950 when he hit .488 in the Legion tournament. He played for Waterloo in '51 and had a .302 Batting Average including 95 RBI's and 16 Homers. He caught and played the outfield for Colorado Springs in '52 and was hitting .340 when he was called up by the Browns in mid-season.
