Paul started in organized baseball in 1946 with the Toledo Mudhens and hit .317 in 144 games. He joined the Browns at the end of the season and appeared in 16 games for them. The next season he hit .248 in 135 games and last season his average was .276 for 103 games. Regarded as quite a prospect.
Leg trouble hampered Foss through most of his seasons with the Giants. Apparently healed at last, he moved on to the Orioles this season, where he fills an important gap in the infield. He always swings a hefty bat.
