Al was with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1954, appearing in 58 games, winning 5 and losing 4. He struck out 30 batters, walked 24 and had an earned run average of 4.18. Al has had a long and distinguished career in baseball, beginning in 1936 with Little Rock of the Southern League. He came to the Cardinals first mid-way in 1943. Then he went into the service, returning in 1946.

Frank S. (Ping) Bodie, outfielder of the Chicago American League team, was born in San Francisco, Cal., October 8, 1887. His first professional engagement was in 1902 with the San Francisco Club in the California State League. He played with that team until 1905, when he joined the San Mateo Club. During 1907 and 1908 he played third base at Vallejo, but left in 1909 to rejoin the San Francisco team. Bodie signed with the White Sox in 1910.
