Injuries combined to hold Mike Mussina's victory total down in 1993, but he still showed why he is included on all lists of the best young players in the game. The Baltimore Orioles righthander followed his brilliant 18-win 1992 season with a 14 win campaign in 1993, and is being counted on to anchor the Orioles rotation for years to come. Mussina had hoped he would have that kind of success in baseball after he decided to attend Stanford and play baseball, turning down a football scholarship from Penn State.



It's easy to swing and miss when you're swinging for the fences, and only the best of the best can rack up the round-trippers without an exorbitant strikeout total as well. Take Fielder, for instance. In 2007, the 23-year-old became the youngest player with at least 50 homers and a 1.000 OPS while whiffing fewer than 125 times.



The 1909 T206 Set received its name from Jefferson Burdick, author of the American Card Catalog. ‘T’ in the T206 name stood for 20th century tobacco issues while ‘206’ was simply a number assigned to it.
