Ivan is back for another try with the Red Sox. He'll hit top form in the majors one of these days, and then he'll be a member of the Red Sox staff to be reckoned with. He had a fine season with Louisville in 1954, appearing in 31 games, winning 17 and losing 10. He struck out 108 men and walked 47 and his earned run average was a good 3.29.
If Ray can improve his batting mark in his sophomore season in 1966, this Tiger will have nailed down a regular job in Detroit. Great with a glove, Ray led the Sally League in defense in 1962.
In what has been widely adjudicated as one of the greatest seasons of all time, Aaron's 62 HRs were an AL record. Not since Mickey Mantle in 1956 had a player led MLB in HRs, RBI, Rs and XBHs.
