Get aboard, get around the bags, get home. The modus operandi of a leadoff batter is the same as it has always been, and Bradfield is perfectly equipped for the role. In 2023, he reached and scored in each of his three games for Baltimore's rookie club, his first four games at Class A Delmarva and his first two games at High-A Aberdeen.

He came back to the big league and made good. Joined the Chicago Cubs in 1932, when the team was fighting for a pennant and his hits helped to put it over. Used to play with the New York Yankees, then served with Detroit for a couple of years, but was sent back to the minors. Played with Mission in the Pacific Coast League and when the Cubs needed a good infielder they bought him. Hit .353 last year. He is a six-footer, weighs 180 pounds. Born in San Francisco, Cal., July 19, 1904.
