In 1967, John helped lead his Spokane club to the Pacific Coast League championship. He paced the P.C.L. in games started (31) and shutouts (6). Last year, John worked as reliever for the Dodgers and came out of the bullpen to win 2 and save two games.

Only 4 pitchers in the NL appeared in more games than the big Pirate reliever in '52. Forrest has been a relief specialist since his earliest days in the pro game. In the 9 seasons prior to '53, he started only 78 times but appeared in no fewer than 344 ball games. After 2 years of pro ball, he went into the Service in '43. He was up with the Pirates in '48 and pitched for Indianapolis of the American Association in '49, '50 and '51.

Sidney split the 2003 season between the Orioles and the Giants, combining for a 17-12 record. The 17 wins are the most he has had in any of his 6 Big League seasons, and his earned run average of 3.75 was also his personal best. A workhorse pitcher, he has 22 complete games in the last 5 years figure bettered by only 3 other hurlers.
