Ferrell caught in over 100 games a year for 11 years, a total of 1806 games in the majors in addition to over 250 in the minors before starting his major league career with the old St. Louis Browns in 1929. He later went to Boston and Washington, back to St. Louis, and Washington a second time. He caught on six straight all-star teams and in two World Series. He is now assistant to the President of the Tigers.
