During his long career in the 'National League, Bob has been one of the best sluggers around. He had another good season in 1950, hitting .305 for 142 games. Slammed 28 doubles, 24 homers. Drove in 107 runs. Originally an outfielder, but while being managed by Frank Frisch at Pittsburgh was made into a third baseman. Traded to the Braves for 1947. Batted .317 that year.
Hit .274 in 126 games in 1950. Had 119 base hits which inIcluded 21 doubles, 6 triples, 12 home runs. Batted in 86 runs. Hit the majors in 1947 with the Bosox. Played in the outfield and at first base. Clipped off a .302 average in 123 games. Slammed 14 doubles, 8 triples, 12 homers. Traded to Washington during the 1949 campaign. Hit .196 in 18 games for Boston; .242 in 78 games for the Senators.
