One of the most popular players ever to wear a Philadelphia uniform, "Chuck" Klein now splits his duties with the Phillies between coaching, pinch-hitting and an occasional fling in the outfield. His past playing, however, have gained him a set place in baseball annals. The quiet, personable outfielder has been one of the great hitters of modern times. boasting a .324 lifetime average. He has collected 2063 hits, including 299 home runs, and has driven across 1195 runs.



Bud is a product of the Dodgers' farm system. He appeared in 3 games for Brooklyn in 1952 - with no decisions - then he went to Cincinnati. For the Reds he worked 89 innings in 27 mound appearances, winning 4 games and losing 5. His earned run average for the Reds was 2.79. Began in 1946 with Santa Barbara, first coming to the majors at the beginning of the 1949 season.
