Name that player!

Andy has had a long fine career in the majors, beginning in 1943, at the end of the season, when he came to the Philadelphia Phillies. He divided the next season between the Phillies and Buffalo, then returned to be a regular. He also played the outfield and third base, although he began as a catcher in 1940. He was in 85 games in 1954, and he batted .235. Andy holds both batting and fielding records. He can swat a long ball.

A great fielder, Eddie led the American League's shortstops in Double Plays in 1951 with 115. He also topped the field in Putouts in 1947-48-49. His 1951 batting average was his best since he started in organized baseball in 1933. But, pitchers respect him for he hits a long ball. Eddie has been with the A's since 1947. Before that he played for the Reds and the Braves. He has 4 sons whose names all begin with "D".

Through 40 games in his 2023 return season with the Giants, Michael homered once every 17.5 at-bats. His career rate had been one every 22.8 at-bats. He walks about 50% more than League average, setting the table as well as clearing it. He's retained a good throwing arm.
