For a youngster who only started his professional baseball career in 1951, Dick has remarkably good control. After a fine season with Marion of the Class D, Ohio-Indiana League, Dick was brought up to the Triple-A, Ameriacn Association in '52 to pitch for Louisville. He had a 7-1 record and 53 Strikeouts in 10 games with the Colonels, when the Red Sox brought him up to the American League in June.

A rangy southpaw, Steve backed up his rookie year with another fine season in 1968. The lefty escaped the sophomore jinx as he posted five shutouts and struck out 162 batters. One of his shutouts was a neat one-hitter, which he fired at the Chicago Cubs in June.

Billy is one of the characters in baseball. He's a comic, he's sure of himself, he's got a lot of promise, and pitches nearly as good a game as he talks. From what the experts say about him, it won't be long before the youngster pitches a better game than he talks, because he's got what it takes. He's a local boy making good. Billy appeared in 32 games for the Dodgers in 1953, winning 14 and losing 8. He was 13 and 8 the preceding year.
