Name that player!

Bothered by sore arm last season which accounts for his 3 games won - 4 games lost record and 6.00 ERA. Ordinarily, however, very, very tough to beat. Won 11 and lost five in 1947 with ERA of 3.77. Has good control and excellent curve ball. Has makings of great star.

"Twinkletoes" Selkirk was given the task of filling the right-field position for the New York Yankees when Babe Ruth left. Even though not the home-run hitter the Babe was, "Twinkletoes" accounts for many of the Yankees' runs, being a consistent hitter. He started his baseball career with the Rochester Club of the International League in 1927. After 7 years' playing with minor-league clubs, Selkirk was acquired by the Yankees in 1934 and since. being with them has batted below .300 only one year. He has taken part in three World Series, getting a batting average of .333 in 1936. His 5-year major-league record shows that he has taken part in 488 games, getting 529 hits for an average of .302.

Since RBI became an official statistic in 1920, Yoán is the only American League player with multiple five-hit/five-RBI games in a season. Those performances in 2022 included a three-run homer.
