It's not an overstatement to say Dent made all the difference in New York's 8-3 win over Oakland on Sept. 3, 1980. It's just the truth. Coming up huge with teammates aboard, the shortstop followed his bases-clearing triple in the first with a two-run double in the eighth. His career-best five RBI helped polish off a three-game sweep.

1952 for the Boston Braves was on the whole a dismal year. However, the bright spot was the long ball hitting of Eddie Matthews. He appeared in 145 games for Boston, batting .242. He had 128 hits, and among those were 23 doubles. 5 triples and 25 home runs. The youngster batted in 58 runs; scored 80. He is being counted on heavily by the Braves for great things in the future.

Xander has legged out at least 30 doubles in each of the past eight 162-game seasons. A newcomer to the Padres in 2023, he tied for third on the team in that category while leading San Diego in hits.
