Obtained from the Cleveland Indians on April 11, 1965, Ted went right to work for the Cubs and became the dean of the Chicago bullpen. The submarining righthander went on to become the big league's most active hurler last year, appearing in 84 ballgames. Ted was credited with saving 24 ballgames for Chicago in 1965.

Joe is a good catcher, and a nice man to have on your side with a bat in his hands. He appeared in 82 games for the Athletics in 1953, batting a neat .296. He had 24 runs batted in and 15 doubles. Joe played freshman ball at Illinois, then went into the Coast Guard for three years. In 1947 with Savannah of the Sally League he hit .280 and was the league's best fielding catcher. In 1948 with Memphis he hit .352, and again led catchers in fielding.

In 1965, Jim paced the American League with 21 victories. That year the righthander shutout the competition six times. Jim was picked by the Expos during the '68 expansion draft.
