"Ducky" began his professional baseball career with the Scottdale Club in 1930. He entered the majors in 1932 with the St. Louis Cardinals with which team he is still playing.
The St. Louis Cardinals gave two players, Virgil Davis and Homer Peel, to get Jimmy Wilson from the Phillies five years ago. He had caught five years with the Phils before that time. He was a soccer football star even before he won a place in the big league as a ball player. Used to play with the Bethlehem Steel soccer eleven. Jimmy Wilson is 32, five feet, 11 inches tall and moves the weights at 185 pounds. He bats and throws right-handed. Last year he batted .248 in 92 games and fielded .982.
Carlos made the All-Star team last year in only his fourth year of pro ball. Was the Sox #1 selection in June, 1966 draft, In one high school season he batted .734. Led Carolina League with .330 mark in 1968 before being brought up to majors. Hit game winning grand-slammer vs. Red Sox in 1969.
