"Ike" was the man that filled Lou Boudreau's shoes when Lou stepped down after 11 years of short-stopping for the Indians. Ray got off to a good start at the plate in '52 but slumped towards the end of the season. He played his first pro game in '42 and was a catcher until '47 at Oklahoma City where he switched to shortstop. In '50, Ray's first full season as an Indian regular, he batted .301, but dropped to .233 in '51.

Cards in the 1909 T206 Set have been found with an assortment of print errors – often, the crazier the error, the more valuable the card.

With 6 years of minor league ball and 2 years of Military Service behind him, Cliff got his first chance in the Big Leagues with the Yankees in 1948. The year before, he hit .308, batted in 117 runs and walloped 21 homers at Kansas City. Owner of one of the best throwing arms in baseball, Cliff played with the Yanks 3 years and was traded to the Browns in '51. They sent him to the Tigers this year. His hobby is raising homing pigeons.
