In 1954 with Rochester, Bill won the International League's batting championship with a .333 mark. He had the second most total bases in the league with 284 and triples with 11. He tied for the runner up spot in hits with 168. He had 22 home runs, 28 doubles and he batted in 98 runs. The Cards acquired Bill from the Yankees in the Enos Slaughter deal. Began in 1950. He's fast and has a great arm.



At Kansas City on 7/21/08, Cabrera matched his personal single-game high with six runs batted in. He collected five hits on the day, including two doubles, and scored twice as Detroit rolled 19-4.



Only 3 pitchers in the National League worked in more games than the Giants' relief ace in '51. George broke in at Knoxville in '48 and played for Jacksonville of the Sally League and Jersey City of the International League before making the Giants.
