During Danny's 10-year career in the majors, he has been with the Phillies, Cards, Braves and Reds. Holds many fielding records one of which can be tied but never topped. In 1942, with Phillies, went through 151 games, accepting 317 chances, without error for a perfect 1.000 percentage. Batted .259 in 54 games for 1950 Reds. Danny teaches school in the off season. He holds a BS degree.



Specializes in saving ball games when other pitchers are getting their bumps. A big fellow, six feet, one inch tall and scales close to 200 pounds. Pitched in most games of any twirler in American League last year, 54 contests. Won eight and lost four. Bought by Washington from Little Rock in Southern League in 1923. Traded to Detroit Tigers in 1932. Born in Streetman, Tex., in 1899 and now lives in Corsicana. Pitches right handed and has a lot of speed. Played important part in success of Washington club in winning pennants in 1924 and 1925.



The fireballing righthander was signed to a bonus contract by the Giants in 1958. Gaylord can be used as a starter or reliever.
