The veteran southpaw was obtained by the San Francisco Giants on December 1, 1965. Joe has an excellent fastball and was the International League strikeout leader in 1959. With Juan Marichal injured late in the season, Joe stepped in to the Giant's rotation and won several key games.

The American League Rookie of the Year for 1967, Rod was a pleasant surprise for The Twins. He moved right into Minnesota's starting line-up early in the year and won the second base job immediately. For the entire season Rod's average was up among the league leaders. He topped his club in triples and was third on The Twins in base-hits. Born in The Panama Canal Zone, Rod had an impressive minor league career. The fleet-footed young man stole 94 bases in three years, including 52 for Orlando in 1965.

When talk turns to the best right-handed hitters in the National League the name of Harry Danning is bound to be among them. When you talk of the best catchers in the league, Danning's name will also be prominently mentioned. "Harry the Horse," as he is called, is one of the most valuable players on the New York Giants. He batted .313 last year, bringing in 74 runs, scoring 79, and poling out 16 homers. His fielding percentage of .991 is right at the top. Danning is one of the best handlers of pitchers in the league and a master strategist.
