A fine backstop, Del ranked 3rd among National League catchers in Fielding in 1951, 3rd in Putouts, 2nd in Assists and was tied for 1st in Double plays with 12. A former professional basketball player, he broke into organized ball in '41 and made the majors with the Cardinals in 1945 after hitting .264 at Rochester in 1944. Del's batting mark isn't mighty, but he comes through with timely hits when they're needed most.

Willie was brought up to the Giants in '59, when he was hitting .372 at the P.C.L. With San Francisco, the lefthanded slugger batted .354 and was named the National League Rookie of the Year.

Bob's knack of putting the ball where he wants it makes him a topnotch control pitcher. This season will be the 6th year that Bob has been with the Phillies and he feels he can top his '50 performance of 11 Wins. Starting pro ball in '48, he won 19 for Terre Haute in '49 to gain a pro- motion to the Phils. In '51, a good Minor season brought him back to Philadelphia.
