Jim is one of the promising rookies the Brownies came up with in 1952. This was his second trip with the Browns. He played with San Antonio of the Texas League in 1950 and 1951; had fine years. In 1950 he batted .321. In 161 games in 1951, he hit .284 and batted in 127 runs, to lead the league. He also led the league in total bases with 284.
