Regarded as one of the top utility men in Baseball, "Sibby" saw service at 2nd, 3rd, shortstop and the outfield for the Braves in '52. A 10 year man in the NL, he started his career in '38 and has been with the Braves since the middle of the '39 season except lor '46. That year he hit .343 to lead the American Association in Hitting at Indianapolis. His best years at the plate in the NL were '47, when he hit .281, and '51, when he hit .279 in 114 games.
Marty is a steady performer for Braves, in 1971 he helped club break all-time Braves' record for DP's in season with 180.
