View AnswerCoffee Talk Name that player!
Carl reached the 50-steal plateau and led the AL in that category for the 4th time in 5 years in 2007. The hot-hitting speedster made the All-Star Game for the 2nd time in his career, adding a home run to the AL cause. He also broke Aubrey Huff's Tampa Bay record for batting average in a season.
Frank became the Yankees' first bonus player when he signed late in '53. A standout performer in American Legion Baseball, Frank had offers from 14 clubs before deciding on the Yanks. Last season he travelled with the New Yorkers and although he didn't see much action, he picked up many "tricks of the trade." Frank is tabbed for future stardom.
After stepping to the plate for just one Major League at-bat in 2007 (a pop out against the Rockies on 9/21), Morton was brought back up in April '08 to fill a need at the catching position for San Diego. He scored a run in his first game of the year on 4/8 after entering the contest as a pinch-runner, and then he delivered his first ML hit on 5/8 at Atlanta.
