During 1949 Bob appeared in 29 games with the bogged-down Chisox and copped a record of 10-6. Won 14 for Baltimore in 1947, and was voted the outstanding leftie of the International League. With same club in 1948. Got a bit wild, issuing 113 walks. But struck out 154 men. Bob once belonged to the Indians. He spent some time in the service.



Bobby was in 135 games for the Phillies in 1954, and he batted .262. He had 119 hits good for a total of 190 bases. These included 25 doubles, 2 triples and 14 home runs. He batted in 50 runs and scored 58. Bobby came into organized baseball as property of the Brooklyn Dodgers, in 1944, with their Newport News farm team. He first came to the majors in 1950 with Brooklyn. He spent the next season with Montreal, then returned to Brooklyn. He was traded to the Phillies in March 1954.
