Willie is the greatest, so say many experts. The National League's Most Valuable Player, Willie won the batting title on the last day of the season with a .345 mark. In his first full season in the majors, he also led in triples with 13. He appeared in 151 games and had 195 hits. Besides the triples he had 33 doubles and 41 homers, and he batted in 110 runs, scoring 119.
