A highly regarded young prospect, Milt appeared in 109 games with the Sox in 1953, batting .263. Milt went on the voluntary retired list in January of 1952 to finish his college course, then returned to baseball in June with Birmingham of the Southern Association. He first attracted Red Sox attention when he was playing high school ball, and was signed to a contract. A brother and an uncle were in pro ball. Attends Springhill college in the off season.

Bobby was obtained from the Cincinnati Reds. He is an extremely valuable man to have on the squad because of his ability to play second, third and shortstop equally well. A real hustling ballplayer and a good hit and run man, Bobby is a credit to any team. Klaus was sold to Buffalo (IL) October 19, 1965.

One of baseball's most famous fireballers - holds the Major league all-time record for number of one-hit games pitched. Won 19 games last season, lost 15, struck out 164 batters and had an ERA of 3.57. (This was the first year since 1938 when he failed to win at least 20 games.) Has chalked up two other Major league high-marks - the single game strikeout record (18 vs. Detroit, 1938) and the season's strikeout record, 349 (1946).
