After starting the '52 season at Miwaukee, Johnny moved up to the Braves early in the campaign and ended up leading NL shortstops in Fielding. He hit .331 for Evansville in '47, his 1st year in pro ball. In '48 Johnny hit .324 for Pawtucket and for Milwaukee in '49 and '50 had marks of .286 and .296. He split '51 between the Brewers and Braves and that year set an American Association record for consecutive chances without an error.
Wally has had a long and distinguished career in baseball. He was one of the best fielding outfielders around, and his major league lifetime batting average was .291. He began in 1931 and first came to the majors in 1935 with Philadelphia. He hit .325 that year and .300 or better every year until 1942. He was with the White Sox that year. Then he played for the Red Sox, and finally, from 1949 to 1951, again with Philadelphia Athletics.
Steve was a quarterback at Kansas U and was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 15th round in 1966, when he also led Big Eight Conference pitchers in Strikeouts. Played first base in minors before he turned to pitching in 1967. Won the final 1968 IL playoff game. Dealt to Montreal by the Mets in the Donn Clendenon trade.
