A switch hitter, "Heinie" Mueller, made a commendable showing with the Phillies last year. It was his second season with the Phils and in the majors and he batted a damaging .279. driving in 43 runs, scoring 46 and hitting 9 home runs. He is one of the shortest men in the majors but drives a long ball. He has played both outfield and infield for the Phils, and is a steady fielder in any position. Second base is his best spot. "Heinie" goes in for painting and interior decorating as a hobby.
