Entered organized baseball in 1949. Began the season with San Diego, Pacific Coast League. Batted .363 for 80 games. Hit 25 home runs, and drove in 92 tallies. Came up to the Indians for 21 games toward end of campaign. In 141 games for the Indians in 1950. Hit .280. Slammed 28 homers. Drove in 107 runs. Kept out of lineup by a leg injury for the first few weeks of the 1951 season.



Set World Series record for most Saves in 7-game Series & tied marks for most appearances and most consecutive appearances, 72. Had best Earned Run Average on Oakland pitching staff in 1973.



Last year was Solly's first full season with the Cards, though he spent part of the two preceding campaigns with them. In 120 games in 1951, batting a nice .281. Had 118 hits for 160 total bases, and drove in 32 runs. Plays second, short and third. Began in baseball in 1946.
